Qualified Provider List for delivery of aspects of Community Payback in Greater Manchester, Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside

Greater Manchester Probation Trust is advertising for providers to apply to join a Qualified Provider List (QPL) for the delivery of aspects of Community Payback in Greater Manchester, Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside.

The Ministry of Justice is running a competition for delivery of Community Payback across England and Wales, in Lots which cover several Probation Trust areas. Lot 3 is made up of Greater Manchester, Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside. These 4 Trusts are seeking to work together with a range of organisations that can offer cost effective, innovative and quality approaches to the delivery of Community Payback.

Community Payback is a community sentence with the aim of ensuring offenders are punished for their crime whilst undertaking unpaid work that is of a benefit to local communities.

The Trust is looking for organisations to provide supervision of offenders, in some or all of the 4 Trust areas, covering:

1.      supervision of groups of offenders undertaking a range of work projects in the community

2.      direct supervision in organisations that provide a direct community, social and/or environmental benefit

The QPL is expected to be in place by December 2011, for an anticipated duration of 4 years. Once established, only providers on the QPL will be able to deliver these services for the Trusts. The QPL will be utilised by any of the four Trusts or any authorised agency acting on their behalf.

The List will be set up and managed electronically, so interested organisations are requested to register their interest by e-mail at: cp-provider-team@manchester.probation.gsi.gov.uk

Organisations registering their interest will be sent an electronic Application Pack. The Application Pack will be available in Welsh on request.
