Feedback from offenders

These are just some of the comments made by offenders following a GMPT survey:

  • I have been treated well and fair. The people I have seen have been friendly and helpful.
  • Since I have been out of prison I think probation has been a great help to me.
  • My officer is very excellent, understanding, motivational. She looks at all reasons, tries to help you achieve targets.
  • I am made up with them. I am now drug free after 10 years of being on heroin.
  • My overall view on staff would be I think they are a great set of people working together to make the community a  better place
  • They have always listened and advised me on my rights
  • I was treated well and with respect.
  • I would personally like to thank my probation officer for helping me through a rough time.
  • Think that you are all friendly, polite and helpful and deserve a medal for the work you do to help people like us
  • I think the probation service does a good job but i think they are too strict on breaching people for not attending. Fair enough if it happens a lot OK.. But after twice for not attending I think that’s very harsh, too strict. Give people more time to get use  to the services.

Feedback from offenders on Probation Programmes

"The fact that I have been able to complete the programme is something I’m really chuffed with. I have found the programme very helpful, interesting and valuable. I want to say a genuine heartfelt thanks to you for spending time and caring enough to help me. And indeed you have helped me. To cut my drug use down totally. To see where I was going wrong. To learn ways for stopping the desire to use – to resist cravings. I have gained a great deal by attending the programme. Also – the totally professional, non-judgemental genuine and interesting way in which you delivered the programme will always stay with me. You are a credit to your profession. Thanks for going above and beyond to help us all. I’ve made real progress – and I’ve done it with a smile too!!"
