Manage High-Risk Offenders
Integrated Offender Management (IOM) is a way of managing high-risk and prolific offenders who are supervised in the community.
IOM involves the joint management of offenders who pose a significant risk of harm and are considered as being likely to re-offend. This is judged by assessing them and their criminal history.
IOM is a multi-agency project that involves probation as the lead organisation in a team including staff from police, youth offending services and local authorities working together to:
- provide intensive supervision for offenders who pose the most risk
- share information on a daily basis about high risk offenders
- co-ordinate resources at a strategic level
IOM teams are based across Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
